Dr. Hossain came to rescue my 2 years old son from multiple abscesses in his leg. He was covid positive so his regular doctor refused to perform the surgery (Square Hospital) then we went to City Hospital, then Dhaka Children hospital, then to Dhaka Medical in a single day. No one/ no hospital agreed to perform the surgery just because he is covid positive. His condition was very bad and those abscesses almost started to spread the infection into his blood and bone. Even with this kind of urgency, no hospital/no surgeon agreed. DMC did not say they can't but there is simply no more room for covid patients. Called Bangladesh specialized hospital after returning from DMC with almost no hope, and Dr. Hossain replied and advised us to visit him in the hospital. we reached the hospital at 6 pm approx. He was surprised to see these abscesses and said they needed to be drained immediately but the chances of getting a covid cabin in BSHL is slim to none. Again Dr. Hossain called Administration and requested a cabin for us and by 9 pm surgery was done and my son returned to the cabin from OT. He could refuse us as everyone else did. simply he did not.
